An associate level opportunity for a Data Protection Solicitor at the Birmingham office of a national firm. Working in the firm's national commercial team you would work with clients in both the public and private sectors on a range of data protection and IT matters. This is a firm known for taking good care of its staff and offering a supportive and balanced culture.
BCL Legal is pleased to be working alongside this national firm in its recruitment of a data protection solicitor.
The team acts for a wide range of clients in both the private and public sectors providing a comprehensive range of commercial services encompassing commercial contracts, intellectual property, data protection, competition, procurement and state aid and strategically supporting supply chain management.
Sector focus is broad and includes retail, transport and logistics, media, pharmaceutical, insurance and technology and, within the public sector, universities, police forces and local authorities.
The current vacancy is to provide advice and support to clients on all matters relating to Data Protection including GDPR and DPA.
You should be confident managing your own case load of data protection and IT matters while offering support to the commercial team on broader matters.
For the successful data protection specialist, work will include:
- drafting, reviewing and negotiating specific clauses and agreements on Data Protection and IT matters
- designing and delivering presentations and training upon Data Protection and IT matters
- carrying out business development initiatives
- advising and supporting more junior members of the team
It is envisaged that the successful data protection solicitor will have a minimum of six years' PQE with specific data protection and IT experience.
