The Role
As a Port Business Services (PBS) Management Accountant at ABP, you'll have the opportunity to develop outstanding skills whilst working for the largest port industry in Europe. With good knowledge of operational port activities, you'll be responsible for accounting transactions within ABP's Finance Shares Services (FSS) team. With a multitude of ABP Services, you will be a key player in creating account & tax reports, processing transactions, performing reconciliations, and keeping your eye on the ball to ensure that all accounts are managed in an accurate and timely manner.
The key fundamentals below need to be full understood and applied;
- Be the main point of contact for all accounting matters
- Report back to Senior Management Accountants on all financial issues
- Be responsible for the consistent adherence to guidelines and internal controls
- Retain and make available necessary documents for local audit
- Work closely with stakeholders across the company to meet objectives
Accountabilities:
- Work with the Record to Report Lead to achieve objectives
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of revenue accounting (including verification)
- Produce timely, relevant and accurate management accounts and statutorily required financial accounts
- Keep the Senior Management Accountants updated on financial issues
- Responsible for the retention of documents and making available to local audit, as required
- Be seen, internally, as a point of contact for accounting matters
- Compliance with performance KPI's for the Management Accounting (Revenue and Margin) Team
- Monitor revenue
- Responsible for the consistent and on going adherence to guidelines and internal controls
- Build relationships with key points of contact across the processes and other functions within the FSS in order to maintain an understanding of the process context and identify both intra process and cross process improvement opportunities
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- A degree level qualification
- Part Qualified Accountant (minimum)
Ideal:
- Analytical and organised
- Collaborative and communicative
- Able to forge strong relationships with a diverse range of colleagues business wide
