Responsibilities:

In this role you will collate information and perform a data mapping exercise which identifies all areas of the business systems, processes, functions and the level of personal data handling within that area, recording all relevant processes. You will mainly focus on:

  • New Client Intake
  • Lateral Hires
  • Marketing procedures
  • Data destruction/retention processes and policies

In addition, you will support the Compliance Manager with specific analysis tasks on the project by assessing the business processes utilised in the information gathering stage against GDPR guidelines to identify gaps, researching and evaluating solutions that tackle these gaps - liaising with IT, Compliance or other departments to accurately determine how to proceed with the process.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Prior knowledge/experience of Data Analysis, including but not limited to; LDS/Data Modelling
  • Significant experience in requirements gathering through 1 on 1 interviewing; facilitation of group workshops and process/data mapping documentation
  • Ability to utilise organisational-standard modelling and analysis tools, methodologies and standards - using analytical techniques appropriate to the business
  • Ability to create information which supports business decision-making through your analytical techniques. Confident to efficiently communicate or present data as clear as possible, using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualisation methods appropriate to the situation
  • Ability to interrogate business requirements, assess feasibility and recommend alternative solutions
  • Proven ability to work both freely and with internal and external stakeholders at senior levels
  • Strong knowledge of MS Visio and other IT applications relevant to data mapping and documentation would be a bonus.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR)
  • Experience working on GDPR project implementation or similar compliance projects
  • Experienced in SQL querying
