You will have a strong strategic grasp and be able to operate effectively within a vibrant political and stakeholder environment. You will also need to demonstrate the capacity to lead service improvements, secure better outcomes and ensure good value for money.

Above all, you will show a passion to deliver great services to the people of Milton Keynes. Reporting to the Council's Chief Executive and a full member of the Corporate Leadership Team you will be working as a team with MKC colleagues, councillors of all parties and wider strategic partners, to promote and support the delivery of the Council Plan. The scope of the role is significant; including Resources Directorate services such as Customer Services, Property Services and Legal Services; as well as commissioning services such as Finance, ICT, Human Resources, Procurement, Audit, Revenues and Benefits, and Democratic Services through our shared service partnership with LGSS. You will also be a member of the LGSS Management Board.

This post holds the statutory chief finance officer role for the Council. Given the financial challenges facing local authorities, your role will be critical in leading the development of the Council's budget and medium-term financial strategy.
