Responsibilities:

* Timely preparation of the Group’s monthly reporting pack, analysis and commentary for presentation to the Board, shareholders and lenders.Drive a significant improvement in the quality of analysis to aid and support business decision making with a focus on the use, rather than preparation, of data.
* Deliver a planning and forecasting process that enables the business to deliver a high quality plan, including development and maintenance of IT systems
* Maintain Group Finance’s relationships with operating group financial controllers and other key stakeholders



Activities

* Establish requirements for the quarterly forecast and annual planning processes
* Work with IT to ensure appropriate systems are in place and functioning to support the quarterly forecasts and annual plan

* Co-ordinate the quarterly forecast and annual planning processes across the Group, its overseas subsidiaries and joint ventures
* Critically analyse and challenge operating group forecasts and plans, identifying areas of risk and opportunity
* Own areas of the forecast and plans that fall outside of operating group responsibilities (e.g. interest, pensions)
* Prepare forecast and plan cashflow statements
* Design and prepare high quality deliverables to communicate forecasts and plans to the, Board, shareholders and lenders

* Prepare the groups monthly reporting pack, analysis and commentary Board, shareholders and lenders
* Analyse results to drive improved understanding of the business and effectively communicate that understanding to key stakeholders
* Own relationship with credit rating agencies, effectively communicating the financial position and ensuring ratings appropriately reflect that position
* Ensure compliance with the financial covenants that form part of the company’s lending agreements. Prepare quarterly covenant compliance certificates
* Support major bid activity as the need arises
* Lead and manage the activities of 1 direct report
