Global Accounting Network is enjoying a consistent boom period, growing our client base, our candidate network and our market share. One of the clients with whom we are enjoying significant success is currently looking to hire a Compliance Manager for their Tax and Statutory Reporting division, based in West London.

The client concerned is a significant PLC with multi-billion pound turnover, global operations and a highly skilled finance function. The complexity of their business dictates that the statutory requirements on them are high, making for an interesting role for the Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
• Leading a talented and driven stats and tax team
• Provide an accurate and compliance financial and tax reporting service across the European markets
• Liaise with external partners re. the tax reporting process and deliverables
• Run historical reviews, forecasts and plans for tax purposes
• Manage a varied and demanding stakeholder group

Candidates should fit the following entry requirements:
• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA
• A strong understanding of Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing
• A background in financial reporting and stat accounting
• IFRS / UK GAAP / US GAAP
• Big PLC experience
• Impeccable interpersonal skills

In-house lawyer - Legal Counsel - Regulatory & Competition - Telecoms - 12month FTC

My client is a well-established mobile network with ambitious expansion plans. Regulatory initiatives play a significant part in helping them to achieve their objectives and the regulatory counsel plays a strategic role in advising the business on a wide spectrum of contentious and non-contentious regulatory matters.

The business now has a mandate to recruit a qualified lawyer on a 12 month FTC basis to cover a period of maternity leave. The main focus of this role will be regulatory litigation, handling cases at the Competition Appeal Tribunal and the Supreme Court.

Responsibilities include:

• Advising all areas of the business on contentious and non-contentious regulatory matters
• Providing commercial and practical legal advice
• Briefing external lawyers and closely managing external advice and costs
• Represent the business with Ofcom and Government regarding proposed changes to regulatory policy

The ideal candidate will be a city trained lawyer with solid experience in advising on telecommunications regulatory matters and handling complex contentious matters.
