Established and Very successful company is looking for an Experienced Linux developer to be a part of and Man-Manage their team on a day-to-day basis. They have doubled their revenue, every year, for the last 3 years - which is amazing considering we are in an economic down turn.

As the Lead Engineer of their software development team, you will be responsible for the overall and day-to-day leadership and management of a small team (<5 engineers).

Alongside the Management, you will:
• Be the main developer of the host level software which is the low level core of the product
• Maintain the host Linux distribution and integrate external open source technologies into this
• Also contribute to the Python / Django technology layers

As an Experienced Linux Developer, your main responsibilities will be:
• Developing the Bash / C host-management application
• Maintaining the custom Linux distribution
• Contributing to the development of the Python / Django layers
• Adding small features and fixing bugs to the code base in response to customer feedback
• Implementing and progressing the longer team feature roadmap for the code base e.g. - new storage and networking technologies)

In order to be successful for the Experienced Linux Developer, you must have the following experience:
• Advanced Bash scripting (Bash is used as a Core language for this company)
• General experience with the internal engineering of a Linux system (internals of a custom distribution, writing software interfacing directly with standard kernel and userspace interfaces)
• Developing software in a command-line Linux environment
• Linux System Administration / Sys Admin networking and virtualization
• Web hosting technologies: domains, DNS, IPs, firewalls, load balancing, web servers, web application frameworks, databases

• Ideally you will also have Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) experience, however this is not essential.

The Software Development Technical Lead Opportunity:

As a Technical Lead in the Global Technology Solutions development you will ensure that quality software is delivered according to specification, following the correct procedures in line with technical and business objectives and company strategy.

The Software Development Technical Lead will:

> Collaboration with member of both technical and non-technical teams working within a single Implementation Team
> Provide technical representation and leadership on a project/product team at a peer level with the project manager and product manager, from project definition through to delivery
> Support the Project Management function in the definition and technical validation of all delivery schedules and plans
> Support the Business Analysis function and Product Management function in defining the goals of the project or work package with a focus on delivering value early and iteratively

Software Development Technical Lead Selection Criteria:

> Have strong technical development background in at least one relevant technology, alongside commercial and technical experience developed in a fast-moving web environment. Java/XML based technologies essential
> Have experience of work management and planning across a small group of developers in an agile environment
> Have experience of working closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Iteration Managers, Project Managers and the Technical Managers
> Past experience of working in a remote implementation team spread globally is a must for this role
> Strong communication skills are crucial thus impeccable English writing and speaking ability
> Highly organised, detail oriented self-starter with good analytical and problem solving skills.
> Educated to University Degree level or equivalent training/experience in the technology arena.
