A lovely primary school in Lewisham are currently seeking a Deputy Headteacher to start this September.

The school is a large, two/three form entry primary with a 'Good' rating in their latest Ofsted. The majority of their pupils are from minority ethnic backgrounds and a large proportion are learning English as an additional language.

As the Deputy Headteacher, you will be non-class based but have at least 5 years' experience teaching and be able to provide evidence of improvement. You should have experience in leading at the primary level and be confident and up-to-date in your knowledge of the current national education agenda. Evidence of successful experience in SEN and/or Inclusion is desirable.

You will also take on the role as the school's Inclusion Manager. This will be support for those with Special Educational Needs, English as an Additional Language, the school's ASD unit, and the use of Pupil Premiums. You will lead the school's inclusion agenda and be responsible for taking meetings and liaising with parents, staff and outside agencies where necessary.

The smooth running of the ASD unit and its inclusion within the mainstream school will be overseen by you; as will the performance management and professional development for staff, especially the SEN TAs, LSAs and the Learning Mentor.

The Deputy Headteacher will work in partnership with the Headteacher to promote school policies and agenda by his/her example and by working alongside other staff members. Experience working with school Governors and in a variety of schools would be an advantage. New ideas and a fresh perspective will be welcomed and encouraged.
