Position Description
JOB PURPOSE:
To work as part of the Planning and Reporting team to act as the Technical expert on UK and US Gaap matters including Revenue Recognition and Corporate Tax matters.

Responsible for all revenue recognition on both UK and US general ledgers, as well as the monthly and quarterly Corporate Tax schedules/entries and filing of our Corporate Tax Returns.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1 Production of statutory accounts and leading of the annual audit with our external auditors
2 Responsible for production of the monthly/quarterly tax journals and reporting requirements, inlcuidng quarterly corporate tax reconcilations
3 Preparation of the PAYE Settlement Agreement including submission to HMRC as required
4 Preparation of all year end corporate tax/deferred tax provisions for statutory accounts, including notes to the accounts
5 Act as advisor on technical accounting matters and to brief the wider finance team as required
6 Provide all supporting schedules for Sarbannes Oxley testing, interim and year end audit, while ensuring strong financial controls are in place
7 Support in preparation of the monthly financial statements
8 Ensure all accounting entries are both UK and US GAAP compliant. Advise of any potential areas of judgement
9 Completing Monthly/Quarterly Balance sheet reconciliations.
10 Monthly review and documenting of all significant revenue arrangements to ensure accurate accounting in accordance with US GAAP and for Sarbanes Oxley compliance purposes.
11 Preparation and maintenance of the US GAAP to UK GAAP reconciliation entries for all the Ceridian entities.
12 Preparation and/or review of financial information for other departments to ensure US GAAP compliance on an as needs basis.
13 Calculation of all revenue(recognized and deferred) and deferred cost of sales figures and ensuring the journals are posted correctly and reconciled to both UK GAAP and US GAAP.
14 Complete quarter end year end reporting packs for US Corporate including detailed variance analysis
15 Oversight of one part qualified accountant performing supporting tasks, including intercompany accounting, and support on cost and revenue transactions monthly
Required Experience
Experience of running a year end auditing process
Professional UK accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA), preferably with Big 4 Accountancy Firm
