As a qualified accountant with a number of years experience, you will be reporting into senior management and, after a period of time, will be expected to take over full responsibility for the departments external reporting.

In this new role, you will be required to:
- provide senior management with support on monthly performance reviews; quarterly, annual and interim external reporting; and GB&M financial reporting,
- co-ordinate quarterly external reporting timetables, ensuring that deadlines are both communicated and met and that checkpoints are arranged with Senior Management to ensure version control,
- compile estimations and forecasting, and prepare peer analysis, scorecards and presentations for external investors,
- prepare materials for the Group Management Board, and
- remain active in MI simplification fast close project work, responding on an ad-hoc basis

In order to be successfully in this position, you will need to be an ACA or CIMA-qualified accountant (or equivalent) with relevant experience. You will need to have a broad understanding of the products within the General Banking and Markets department, as well as strong interpersonal, written and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities

Qualifications

Experience Required:

• Bachelor/Master Degree required with relevant education (business economics, accounting or equivalent)

• CIMA, ICAA, ACA or IIA qualified
• MS-Office expertise (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP, is a strong plus

Internal Reporting Relationships

• There is a high level of collaboration between the RCCM and the Compliance and Risk team (Ethics & Compliance + Enterprise Risk Management), Internal Audit, the SOX team, the Security team, Legal and the Corporate Controllers group.
• Collaboration with local external auditor (E&Y) teams is required.

- Look for ways of improving existing processes.

You must be working in a large complex business, ideally with liaison with the US although this isn't essential. The role is using a high volume of data in excel and being an excel guru (to pivot tables and v-looks up). Therefore you must demonstrate you have worked in a similar excel driven role and have an understanding or experience in accounting.
