A rare and exciting opportunity to join a world-leading multi-national company as European Sales Manager, selling high-precision fluid-film bearings into the Oil &Gas / Power Generation / Turbo Machinery industries. You will be covering the whole of Europe, Russia, India and parts of the Middle East. The company, established for over 50 years, are offering a competitive salary of c£80000 pa (negotiable) + bonuses and a comprehensive package.
As European Sales Manager, you will have the primary responsibility to:
• Develop and implement sustainable plans to retain and grow existing customer business
• Source, cultivate and secure new OEM relationships within the turbo-machinery and other large rotating equipment markets
• Analyse and understand the key target growth segments within your area
• Develop Strategic Initiatives that create ‘new product’ sales by leveraging the companies R&D activities
• Build high-level customer relationships with key decision makers
• Monitor competitor activity and respond accordingly
• Maintain a strong, visible sales pipeline, from initial enquiries through to orders received
• Provide a positive contribution to overall strategic direction, emphasising customer focus and strong market position
• Develop, monitor and provide regular reports on multi-year sales forecasts for Finance and Management.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate the UK sales team, assuring that proper manpower and expertise are in place to execute your sales plan
• Drive Lean/Continuous improvement efforts within the Sales processes
• Provide solid, reliable market feedback to the company to assist with New Product development
• Maintain a close working relationship with the engineering and production departments
• Provide support to other Management areas as required
As a degree qualified Engineer, with a background in Sales environment, you will have the following skills and attributes:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, although other related disciplines will be seriously considered.
• Excellent Business acumen - an MBA would be looked on very favourably.
• Solid commercial and negotiation skills
• A minimum of 10 years of proven sales and sales management experience - rotating equipment preferred
• Strong industrial and technical background, with a track record of value selling into key customers, preferably within the Oil &Gas / Power Generation / Turbo Machinery Industries.
• Motivated to succeed, with an eye on career development
• Demonstrable ability to create ideas and develop solutions
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and management skills
• A willingness willing to travel 25-50%, both domestically and internationally
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Eligible to live and work in the UK
• Full UK driving licence

Main requirements:
1. Bachelor degree (or above) in Pharmacy or related disciplines (MBA degree definite plus)
2. Strong exposure and knowledge in generic pharmaceutical industry and market of Europe with solid experience of which some is at senior management positions in pharmaceutical companies. If working experience in pharmaceutical industry is not possessed, exposure in financial institutes focusing in investment in pharmaceutical industry is required
3. Strong industry connection and ability to spot and discover investment opportunities (through M&A or JV )
4. Strong sense of achievement to drive projects
