Software Systems Specialist - London

The job holder researches and recommends the appropriate system software to meet corporate standards and objectives for system performance. S/he designs, implements, integrates and supports various PC operating systems and ancillary/utility products. This is a FIX on-boarding specialist position within the eCommerce Financial Markets Solutions Delivery IT team.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

* Primary responsibilities of the position include the testing, integration and 2nd line support of the new eCommerce infrastructure with specific focus on the API
* Secondary responsibilities are managing the client on-boarding: As a member of the API Integration team the candidate will be responsible for the development and integration of the API interfaces (largely FIX) between the client and our external clients and vendors.
* Daily responsibilities include managing the configuration and conformance testing of the the clients API connections that our clients use to access our internal trading applications, as well as the interfaces my client uses to access liquidity feeds from other ECNs and dealers.
* Additional responsibilities will include extending the API specification to incorporate new features, or accommodate new industry driven requirements. The position involves working very closely with the FX Business Team, my clients, Clients, the development team, the support teams, and third party vendors to establish the system requirements and API specifications
*

* Requires a strong background in FX Trading Systems, FIX protocol, and the Liunx operating system.
* Experience with using Oracle DBMS is a plus. The candidate does not necessarily have to be an expert in C++ or Java, but should have a general knowledge of programming including debugging and testing new versions of production binaries.
* Familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl or shellscript would be advantageous.
* Candidate should have least 3 years experience in the Financial Services Industry as well as a B.S. in computer science or a similar degree.



Skills Required:

* A potential candidate should have extensive experience with FIX protocol and a strong background in systems integration of FX Trading applications and products.
* Having experience working with ECNs, and or Third Party Connectivity vendors are a major plus. This position also requires a solid understanding of connectivity, networks, firewall and TCP/IP protocol.
* An additional requirement is that the candidate must have experience managing configuration and application changes in an electronic trading environment. Knowledge of MIS tools such as Business Objects would be extremely beneficial.
* Candidate must have familiarity with at least 2 major FIX Engines on the street, such as CameronFIX or QuickFIX.
* Our team is responsible for managing a Global environment and integrating with a global team on a daily basis. The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to implement system changes in a global environment.
