The Team:

The PSL will work across the London Insurance, Commercial Dispute Resolution and Construction groups, all of which form part of the firm's Global London Group.

The London Insurance Group deals with high-value, complex claims and policy wordings disputes (frequently with an international flavour) for London Market and International insurance companies and syndicates.

The Group’s expertise spans virtually all insurance service lines: property, construction, engineering, energy (on and offshore), marine, product liability and recall, public liability, environmental liability, professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors' and officers' liability, cyber liability and other financial lines, reinsurance and insurance regulation. The Group advises on policy wordings, insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes, and complex, high-value claims (defence and recovery actions).

The London Commercial Dispute Resolution team is based across our Minster Court and Fetter Lane offices. It carries out a wide range of business dispute related work involving contractual claims; economic torts; shareholder/company disputes; fraud; corporate/commercial law and regulatory issues involving financial institutions and accountants.

The Role

Know-how and precedents
• Develops and maintains procedures and systems for contributing, sharing, and storing knowledge/documents.
• Drafts and maintains precedents and guidance to support fee earners.
• Produces weekly internal updates to the relevant service lines.
• Produces monthly and annual internal and external support material.
• Prepares/ supports/ delivers ad hoc presentations internally and externally.

Training

The Person

We are looking for a practising solicitor or existing Professional Support Lawyer with, ideally, at least 4+ years PQE and extensive expertise in commercial and insurance dispute resolution and regulation as described in the section on "The Team" above. Experience in the fields of commercial litigation (financial institutions), D&O/cyber, energy or marine/aviation/transport would be particularly useful.
