This market-leading Construction and Engineering group currently has a vacancy for two insurance lawyers to provide coverage advice to insurers and to handle professional indemnity claims for professionals. Experience of surveyors, architects and engineers claims in particular would be useful but not essential. The group is part of the firm’s wider Insurance department, but is focused entirely on construction, and is targeted at three sectors:

Sector 1: Construction work for developers, banks, contractors and professionals including contract drafting and PFI.

Sector 2: Contentious construction work for major contractors involving both defects and financial disputes, loss and expense/delay claims, live contract advice and adjudication.

THE ROLE – key responsibilities will include:-



* Developing a first-class reporting capability across the business including regular reporting to the board for all third party clients ensuring high quality reports are produced within key deadlines.
* Gaining a full understanding of the strategy and portfolio structure of various funds to ensure that intelligent and appropriate analytics are undertaken.
* Preparing various business plans in respect of funds and individual investments which set the strategic context for the relevant fund for the year ahead and which are presented to and approved by third party clients.
* Providing financial modelling support to the investment teams to enable them to accurately appraise investment opportunities including contributions to the proposal papers for the Investment Executive where appropriate.
* Responsibility for the provision of periodic and ad-hoc reporting to analyse various aspects of the real estate portfolio, including assessing the impact of potential transactions.
* Liaising with senior Directors to develop new reports and templates to be prepared on a timely basis in order to meet the requirements of end users.
* Ensuring consistency of reporting processes and data sources across various areas of the business.



THE PERSON – To apply, it is imperative that you can demonstrate previous Real Estate analysis experience and a relevant qualification - preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA although a Surveyor (MRICS / Masters) may be considered. Strong communication and influencing skills are essential. You should have strong Excel and modelling skills, be numerate and have good attention to detail. You should be able to manage competing priorities and be able to articulate yourselves well. You must be able to work as part of a team and be self-motivated as well as taking full responsibility for your outputs.
