You will work as a Commercial Solicitor as part of a team undertaking both general commercial and technology related work on behalf of a wide range of businesses in a wide range of sectors. • Attend training as and when necessary on specified dates
• Attend departmental meetings (where appropriate) and to take an active part in discussions and give feedback
• Help to raise the profile of DP with a professional approach within the team and towards internal clients at all times
• Show commitment and flexibility to the job
• Respect and apply the policies laid down in the Human Resources Policy Manual.

The Challenge:

- Reporting to the General Manager and leading a small team, including three qualified accountants, your prime focus will be to assist in the maximisation of profitability whilst upholding the ethical integrity and accuracy of all financial matters.

- As a top team member, you will contribute at a strategic level to key decision making within this complex business employing some 400 people.

- Whilst ensuring the timely completion of monthly accounts, you will also oversee all financial transactions including multifaceted machine costings, revenue recognition, sales & purchase ledgers and balance sheet reconciliation.

- Your commercial activities will include contract review, Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees, together with corporate accounting, tax, auditor and treasury liaison whilst leading foreign exchange and hedge accounting activities.

- Heading up the internal systems function, you will also further develop the well-established culture of continuous improvement in financial controls including SOX compliance.

The Candidate:

- Must be fully qualified (CIMA or ACCA), ideally supported by a Post Graduate qualification such as an MBA.

- Must have significant PQE, ideally gained in an engineering or manufacturing environment and operating at a top leadership/strategic level.

- Specific experience of operating within US GAAP or IFRS and knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley provisions would be a distinct advantage as would exposure to Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees.

- Receptive to change, candidates must be empowering team builders and players with exemplary communication skills. You must also be able to present complex information to non-financial decision makers to enable them to make informed judgements.

- A strong business mind and strategic capability is expected as is the ability to contribute to management decision making outside of the finance area. Specific knowledge of JDE, IBS, Hyperion or other similar ERP and Finance systems would be advantageous.
