Our client is a FTSE 250 company and one of the leading names in the national and international insurance market. It is looking to recruit a senior solicitor to proactively manage a team of 4 dedicated liability solicitors, handling liability claims for high net worth household and commercial clients and brokers. The successful candidate will also be responsible for his/her own large liability caseload up to around £5million.

A rare, exceptional and very much hands-on role working in-house, the new recruit will liaise closely with intermediaries, loss adjusters, solicitors, third party representatives and any other appointed experts as well as undertake the supervisory responsibilities expected of a team leader. Day-to-day work would not involve handling lower value claims, as these would be carried out by third parties, under your management and liaison.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate an extensive experience in handling high value and complex employer's and public liability claims and a thorough understanding of the legal process either from an insurer, loss adjusting or legal background. The client would prefer a qualified solicitor, but this is not essential, although an in-depth understanding of the legal framework around large loss claims is required. A minimum of 6 years PQE (or equivalent) is required. Experience of management is a must.
