Our client is a leading Lancashire based firm, who are looking for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join their firm on a Locum contract.

The successful candidate will have to manage an on going caseload including litigated cases.

Key responsibilities:

* Handle a mixed caseload of claims, progressing claims through the Clinical negligence pre action protocol
* Handle initial instructions from clients, websites, insurers
* Investigate and assess new claims, including risk assessing potential new cases and communicating with clients
* Assisting with the supervision of more junior fee earners to guide them when risk assessing new instructions and generally progressing their case load
* Prepare and issue court proceedings and conduct proceedings, instructing Counsel as and when necessary

* Advising and investigating available funding including CFA, BTE, and ATE

* Procedural management of files
* Advising clients on the law and how it may affect them, aadvising clients in meetings, on the telephone and in writing
* Proactive compliance with Solicitor’s Regulations Authority professional conduct rules and standards / ISO / firm’s procedures
* Researching documents and case history to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure
* Drafting and amending documentation relating to the client’s case

Applicants must be a Solicitor or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and have knowledge of the Clinical Negligence pre-action protocol and litigation process.
