The Claims Solutions team advises insurers and corporate clients in their defence of claims of all values, types and complexity. Our National team whose clients are a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates, deal with all aspects of defendant litigation, to include catastrophic injury, motor, casualty, disease, product and health and safety. Increasingly, the team is getting involved in pre-emptive advice on these issues as well as dispute resolution.
Core Responsibilities
DAC Beachcroft is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join the Casualty team in Manchester. Working within the Industrial Disease team and under the supervision of more senior fee earners, you will be responsible for your own case load that will be primarily Noise Induced Hearing Loss ("NIHL") claims.
You will work for a mixture of household name insurer clients and self Insured companies which instruct us directly. The successful candidate will be expected to act as a first point of contact for clients and claimants on these matters, so a proportion of this work will involve face to face dealings with these clients.
Day to day responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: Analysis of evidence and setting case strategies encompassing both technical and commercial considerations, undertaking investigations into liability, speaking to witness to obtain draft statements and documentation, drafting letters of response, conducting (telephone) negotiation of claims, preparing analysis of medical evidence, preparing counter schedules of loss, undertaking third party legal costs negotiations, sound file management.

Key Skills
Previous experience of dealing with NIHL/deafness claims is essential, whilst exposure to defendant accident claims would also be advantageous.
We are looking for a keen a confident individual with excellent communication skills who can build and develop relationships with our prestige clients. Excellent commercial awareness and experience of working in a target driven environment would also be an advantage.
