Systems - To develop real-time electronic control systems for diesel fuel injection equipment and other integrated engine and vehicle electronic systems.

Responsibilities
The role’s main duties will be drawn from the following:

- Ability to independently plan and develop a product or engineering component
- Experience of control strategies development in Matlab
- Drive re-use and commonality where possible
- Awareness and integration of Industry trends
- Provide expertise for investigations and problem solving activities
- Capturing and analysing customer requirements, designing control algorithms (using Simulink), designing system diagnostics and CAN communication specifications
- Developing validation tests for dSpace HiL
- Calibrating sensor interfaces and diagnostic strategies
- Calibrating servo controls and regulators
- Supporting customers’ engine and vehicle testing
- Supporting system and hardware FMEA

Experience in use of the following tools is required:

SPICE, Simulink, Mathworks, Engine Control, dSpace, HiL (hardware in the loop), diagnostics, CAN, FMEA, Algorithm Development, Validation, Calibration, OBD, Requirements Analysis, Stateflow, eCoder, MISRA, EGAS, Autocode.

Qualifications & Experience

- Educated to degree level in electronic, electromechanical or mechanical engineering (R).
- Experience of developing real time embedded control systems with an Automotive Background.
- Solid experience of defining control strategies in Simulink.
- Awareness of the SPICE assessment model.
- Experience of a production intent auto-coding environment.
- Previous experience in a customer facing technical position.

Essential Criteria for this role are as follows:

*Lifts & Escalators experience within a fast track construction environment is essential.
*Experience working in highly serviced buildings.
*Mechanical/Electrical or Engineering trade qualification or an equivalent Lifts & Escalator qualification is essential.
*Experience dealing with large Consultant practices, Engineers, Utilities, Local Authorities and other professional and technical workers.
* Must be able to analyse and interpret drawings (technical and architectural), specifications and bills of quantities.
* Must possess negotiation skills and apply these to their dealings with owners, developers and sub-contractors.

*Ensure the contractor submits all documents and drawings in accordance with the programme.
*Ensure that all documentation is distributed as required, information will be issued and distributed via the BIW document control system, email and correspondence with central records.
*Ensure that the contractor's work is supervised and inspected for quality completion and to meet the design requirements.
*Ensure the contractor submits all records and certificates as required in the contract and quality documents in accordance with the programme.
*Assist the Cost Manager in the regular valuation of work, assessment and agreement of variations and final accounts.
*Prepare a final report on the package, including a commentary on the performance of the contractor.
