Financial services organisation requires corporate lawyer to join team.
Excellent opportunity to join a small team and be focussed on all non-contentious work for the business, including local and international M&A deals, and also general commercial work. You must be able to run your own M&A deals (with external counsel where appropriate) and will also support a more senior corporate lawyer within the business with a wide variety of corporate/commercial matters.

Our client’s business is at the very heart of the London banking community and is a stable member and well regarded institution within city finance circles. Our clients IT systems help support the trading of items such as derivatives, swaps and fixed income products. As a highly trusted recruitment partner of some 10+ years, we have been asked to identify a contract Listed Derivatives Senior Project Manager to join the team in London for 12 months initially.
This is a greenfield project to scope, initiate and run a project to deliver a project focusing on US Energy trades Derivatives business.
Candidate requirements
Strong Listed Derivatives background.
Ideally post-trade space experience.
Proven ability to deliver complex implementation projects
Line management/supervisory experience
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver medium-sized projects of some complexity
This role is being handled by Nick Gordon CertRP FIRP (27 years in banking IT recruitment) and Peter Hirst AIRP CertRP (10 years in banking IT). Both have an intimate knowledge of this client, with c.200 placements into this banking client over the past decade.

THE ROLE: This leading, Legal 500 firm is looking to bolster their private client team with an additional senior hire. The position would suit a Senior Associate/Partner ready to settle in to a new challenge. As well as getting involved in the development of the team and the department, you can expect to work on a mix of HNW private client matters including wills, trusts, probate, trusts & estate planning, tax, court of protection and LPA's. The estates & financial planning team works closely with the firm’s other private client teams acting for high net worth individuals within the local area. Its work ranges from modest to complex matters. The role requires an individual who is not only looking to handle existing work but is able to develop the caseload further and exploit all cross-selling opportunities within the firm.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate should have at least 8+ years experience, in a West End or significant regional practice and be looking for a new challenge to embed their career at a senior level. The firm is happy to consider candidates with a broad skill base in private client law however you must consistently demonstrate partner level behaviour. You will need to evidence your track record in converting business development activity into new instructions and ideally having a portable client following.

As the senior leader of the EMEA Discount Central Utility Product Control team, the candidate will be required to:

* Use subject matter expertise to provide support to the business and ensure smooth implementations on various technology, business and regulatory initiatives
You should have strong numerical and analytical skills, with an understanding of interest rate products: FRA, IR and XCCY Swaps; tenor/currency basis and discounting calculations.
Good knowledge of spreadsheets (MS Excel) essential (skills in formulae and macro construction or the aptitude to learn these skills), with familiarity with the following applications would be preferred: Kapital, Orion and Position Server (not essential). Ability to interact with a trading room environment together with the necessary interpersonal skills to develop great partnerships and exert influence across numerous teams. Proficiency in accounting and knowledge of US and UK GAAP will be useful.
The Applicant should have solid understanding of internal controls and risk assessment concepts, who is a self-starter with a strong interest in learning and the ability to work well under pressure, attentiveness to detail, thoroughness and tenacity to get the job done.

This global fast moving business is actively seeking a Project Accountant / Finance Manager to support an exciting phase in their development. The company is FTSE listed with a large geographical presence and a reputation for strong and innovative growth. They are soon to acquire a business in a new geographical territory to support their global expansion and market share and are looking for a high-calibre finance professional to lead the financial integration.
As the financial lead on this integration the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial, commercial, tax and legal due diligence of the target. This will include review of contracts and commercial performance, review and documentation of existing processes and controls and producing the project plan to fully integrate the company into the parent. The candidate will then oversee the smooth transition of all the financial processes including financial and management accounting, statutory reporting, FP&A, tax and financial control into the parent company. During this time there will be a large amount of stakeholder management ensuring that all parties in the process are kept well informed of progress and engaged in the transition.
The ideal candidate will be have a strong technical background, ideally from practice with a few years experience in industry in a mixture of financial reporting, control, management reporting and technical roles. Experience of due diligence, either from with practice / transaction services or from industry is essential as is an understanding of tax, though an expert knowledge is not required.
As well as the financial requirements applicants must be able to demonstrate strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills. They must be able to set a project plan and drive through change with minimal disruption to the business.
