Logging of soil and rock to BS5930/Eurocode 7
Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating with engineers of other disciplines
Managing project teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget, providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

You will be required to have the following skills:

Good general geotechnical design skills and the ability to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of geotechnical engineering and design principles
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
Excellent report writing and written and verbal communication skills
Appreciation of contaminated land/waste management issues would also be an advantage
Academic requirements include a minimum of a BEng in Civil Engineering or a BSc in Geological Sciences ideally supplemented with an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
Candidates should be Professionally Chartered or close to achieving Professional Chartership

The position of Geo-Environmental Engineer/ Senior Engineer is within our Clients expanding Geo-Environment Capability and will be based in the Cardiff office in South Wales.
The role will require regular travel within Wales and the Southwest region but there may also be occasional requirements to support other regional offices throughout the UK and potentially overseas.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Geo-Environmental Engineer will be to support the design, supervision, procurement and management site investigations for both environmental and geotechnical purposes. The role will require liaison with clients and contractors and all aspects of site management in a broad variety of settings for a diverse client base. The role will also require factual reporting and elements of interpretive assessment and geo-environmental consultancy. There will be regular requirement for interface with the local and national team with future opportunities to develop into areas of specialism available in due course.

The Geo-Environmental Engineer must have a relevant degree, and ideally also a postgraduate degree, in an environment-related subject. Prior experience of work within the Geo-Environmental Industry is essential and the ideal candidate will have prior working knowledge and experience of the running large and complex sites, as well as associated software and data management systems (for example Holebase).
