THE ROLE:
This growing firm has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, hard working solicitor to join them on a consultancy basis.
You will manage a caseload of family and private client files, including divorce, ancillary relief, wills and probate matters.
The role does not come with a basic salary but does attract a generous fee-sharing package.
The firm has some existing work but the successful candidate will be required to bring in their own in the form of a following.

The successful candidate will perform the following roles:

Geotechnical design for foundations, retaining structures, and earthworks, including use of Eurocode 7
Preparation of geotechnical specifications, including earthworks and foundations, ideally also with construction supervision experience
Planning and management of ground investigations, including scoping and preparing specifications and contract documentation, supervision and interpretation
Logging of soil and rock to BS5930/Eurocode 7
Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating with engineers of other disciplines
Managing project teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget, providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team

You will be required to have the following skills:

Good general geotechnical design skills and the ability to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of geotechnical engineering and design principles
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
Excellent report writing and written and verbal communication skills
Appreciation of contaminated land/waste management issues would also be an advantage
Academic requirements include a minimum of a BEng in Civil Engineering or a BSc in Geological Sciences ideally supplemented with an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
Candidates should be Professionally Chartered or close to achieving Professional Chartership
