A large scale Bristol business is seeking a qualified financial accountant to join them on a six month contract covering a secondment.
The interim qualified accountant Bristol role includes:
Preparation of annual consolidated financial statements in line with current accounting regulations
Calculation of depreciation, maintenance of the fixed asset register
Period end accounting including reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts
Ad-Hoc projects and report writing
Monitoring of controls and processes inline with company policy
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, happy to role their sleeves up and perform the day to day duties expected. This is not a management role and would not suit candidates looking for senior interim roles.
The client would prefer someone from a financial services background and someone on a short notice. The role is paying up to £325 per day.

This blue chip organisation based in Bristol has an immediate requirement to recruit an INTERIM TREASURY REPORTING MANAGER. This position requires an immediate start and is estimated to last approximately 6 to 7 months. The salary will be circa £300 to £400 per day dependent on experience.
Role Purpose: Produce Treasury accounting and UK Stats. Ensure accounting implications of Treasury transactions are understood in a proactive manner. Ensure that treasury transactions are correctly accounted for, under both IFRS and UK GAAP.
Key Responsibilities:
Account for all Treasury transactions and the Group's treasury companies, under both UK GAAP and IFRS, in an accurate, compliant and timely manner, including managing the Group's net investment hedging and ensuring individual UK entities are tax matched from a foreign currency perspective
Produce comprehensive management information to enable proper independent oversight of actual and forecast positions on a monthly basis
Participate in extensive project work and responsible for aspects of the implementation of the replacement treasury accounting system
Working with Group Tax, ensure processes are in place to manage UK exposure to tax due to Fx movements
Produce certain UK statutory accounts (UK GAAP) and relevant notes for the Group AR&A (IFRS) in an accurate, compliant and timely manner, ensuring the process is appropriately planned, communicated, controlled and documented as appropriate
Maintain Treasury accounting-related policies in line with changing external and internal requirements
Contribute to the development and maintenance of processes to evaluate current and future (1-2 year) financial positions related to Treasury Accounting
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent experience
Previous experience of Treasury accounting. Experience of Treasury advantageous.
Able to identify relationships and causes in complex situations.
Able to consider, evaluate and adapt to changing circumstances. Resilient.

Reporting into the Director of Finance Operations (headquartered in Birmingham) a Financial Controller vacancy exists within the Bristol based SSC.

Principal Accountabilities:
• To develop and manage a highly efficient, flexible and responsive accounting, reporting and finance processing operation • Ensuring costs are minimised and service targets are met in line with business expectations and best practice benchmarks • To ensure all relevant accounting standards are met and that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a timely basis • Lead and provide day to day management of the Finance Operations Centre at Bristol in providing AP and AR transaction processing, financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting, general ledger maintenance, fixed assets, query handling, core and ad-hoc reporting services • Continually manage credit risk and debtor performance via close management of the sales ledger using focused KPIs and targets • Budgeting and forecasting major cash inflows and outflows, ensuring action is taken to meet the cash targets • Manage the preparation of management and statutory accounts, forecast and cash flow, ensuring compliance to all of Interserve's accounting policies and published deadlines. • To develop accounting policy / treatments on a continuing basis for the Support Services divisionin cooperation with the Director of Finance Operations and Group Centre & to ensure compliance.
The successful applicant must be a highly motivated, self starter with the ability to operate autonomously. Demonstrable experience leading and motivating teams of up to c.30 staff is a pre-requisite.
Qualifications: • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
Knowledge and Experience: • Strong IFRS Accounting standards knowledge • Experience of managing a multi-entity general ledger team • Experience of managing a small finance shared service centre or central accounting function. • Experience of driving change and developing culture • Proven track record of delivering significant process improvements • Good understanding of finance best practice
