A fantastic opportunity to join a market leader during an exciting period of change, my financial services client is seeking an experienced Senior Investment Operations Change Manager.

They require experienced professionals with a proven track record and experience across change, Investment Accounting and Investment Operations. The role will focus on the support and delivery of strategic and BAU changes in conjunction with external partners and internal stakeholders. This is a permanent role that is a critical appointment within the organisation, and one with further advancement potential in 12 - 18 months.

Key accountabilities

* Lead the Investment Operations change team of seven.

* Lead IO inputs into strategic projects working closely with BAU teams and other Finance stakeholders.

* Responsible for ensuring IAIO change activity adheres to relevant policies, principles and governance.

* Responsible for effective change management with external TPA’s and asset managers, ensuring quality and timely life cycle delivery.

* Responsible for the on-going development and execution of an effective change management process.

* Responsible for ensuring IA projects are adhering to due process and governance.

* Contribute to strategic direction of the team and the wider Finance function.

* Engage senior stakeholders in order to influence key business decisions.

Proven experience of delivering and managing change, plus experience within an investment operations and accounting environment are essential (preferably life accounting). You will have managed a team during a time of delivering strategic change and be happy with occasional travel to other UK sites. Full life-cycle delivery experience is essential to the success of these roles. Applications are also welcome from candidates currently working within accountancy practice (Manager / Senior Manager level) who can demonstrate exposure to life accounting, investments and change.

The Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) organisation require two highly skilled, qualified (CCAB / CIMA) Senior Finance Managers. These prestigious roles will place you in the heart of a unique organisation undergoing significant development allowing you to utilise your programme management skills to help shape their future whilst learning new skills delivery multiple finance projects across a wide portfolio.

Day-to-day DE&S finance officer’s work within the Operating Centre (OC) Project and Delivery Teams that procure and support the equipment that MoD requires. Financiers work alongside military colleagues, project managers, commercial officers, inventory managers, technical experts and risk managers to ensure that the equipment the MoD purchases is fit for purpose and achieves the best possible value for money.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working as a senior project / programme finance officer on a wide portfolio of projects
• Direct support to the Project Team Leader and the Operating Centre Senior Finance Manager
• Maintaining and achieving the performance indicators agreed for the finance team; in relation to the effective management of budgets and assets.
• Managing and overseeing the accounting in the nominal and sub ledgers.
• Effectively leading; managing; and resourcing the finance team including any significant external supplier of services.
• Making sure that adequate systems of control are in place including reasonable segregation of duties.
• Ensuring that all necessary reconciliations are carried out on a monthly and annual basis as required.
• Managing and maintaining accurate fixed asset accounting records.
• Ensuring that a proper set of accounts is kept and an accurate record of all transactions taking place in accordance with proper accounting and statutory requirements; including the production of year end accounts.

Other the next three years DE&S have three clear priorities:

• successful Delivery – delivering the Equipment Programme to performance, cost and time
• Successful Leadership – inspiring performance and managing outcomes efficiently and effectively
• Successful Change – delivering increased capability and value
To be successful you must be able to demonstrate capability to manage around 20 staff and each position typically has £10M delegated signing powers:

Commercial awareness and understanding non-financial aspects of the wider business
