Commercial Property Lawyer - My client are a reputable and established legal practice with an office based in South Birmingham who are looking to bring in a Commercial Property Lawyer to join their growing team.

The Commercial Property Lawyer will work with a range of clients both large and small and will be involved in acting for developers on land acquisitions and sales, section 106 agreements, roads and sewers agreements, commercial leases and overage provisions amongst other things.

You will be assigned combination of responsibilities in various areas including project financing, energy solutions financing, asset financing, maritime law, cross-border lending, litigation in domestic and foreign jurisdictions, regulatory compliance and other commercial transactional and litigation matters.

In particular, some of the tasks may include the following:

1. Drafting and reviewing of facility and loan agreements and related documents.
2. Drafting and reviewing of syndication and participation agreements and related documents.
3. Negotiation of various agreements with international customers and counsel.
4. Conducting due diligence in various jurisdictions and on a wide variety of matters, including financing solutions for the energy sectors and secured lending.
5. Assisting the business unit in structuring and reviewing potential transactions at inception and throughout the life of the transaction.
6. Counselling the business unit on legal issues arising from various types of domestic and international transactional, litigation and bankruptcy matters.
7. Working with business unit managers, sales staff, and other members of the in-house counsel team to document, progress and close transactions.
8. Working with and supervising outside counsel on local law issues that may arise from transactional, litigation or bankruptcy matters.
9. Reviewing and overseeing the work product of paralegals and transaction coordinators.
10. Assisting in the creation of template documents and establishing best practices.
11. Providing legal training on various topics to business units.
12. Advising on policies and procedures.

You must have a minimum of 4 years experience in asset financing, preferably with experience in cross-border project financing, energy financing and/or maritime finance law. In addition to training at a top regional or national practice you must be able to demonstrate:

- Ability to balance strong legal skills with clients' commercial priorities as the situation requires.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities under tight timeframes.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as the job requires
