Financial Controller

Axon Moore is partnering with a highly recognisable, PE backed retail company based near Burnley. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that has been going through progressive growth and are looking to bring in a strong number 2 in finance. This Financial Controller position will be working very closely to the Group Finance Director and other senior stakeholders across the business. The role will be focusing on driving the numbers, managing a strong finance function and driving process improvements across the board.

The role will include:

• Implement and maintain strong financial controls and support the effective management of the business
• Create processes, efficiencies, oversee the full finance function and make changes including how they forecast, analysing data and use of their systems
• Driving cash flow management, financial reporting and reviewing VAT
• Review the internal and external reporting, production of the year end audit, statutory accounts and work with creditors, bank relationships and insurers
• Annual budgeting and rolling monthly forecasting
• Detailed variance analysis, dashboard and labour reporting and reviewing KPIs
• Partner senior stakeholders and the Group Finance Director in presenting and explaining financial information and performance of the business
• Manage and develop the finance team of 10 including transactional

You will be a Fully Qualified Accountant from either a ACA, CIMA or ACCA background and ideally have worked within a fast-moving environment. You will need to have a solid level of accounting background, strong controls experience and use to a hands-on environment. This will be a significant opportunity to get into an exciting role with lots of change, challenges and be a part of an exciting journey especially within private equity.

Salary is £60k - £65k + bonus + benefits
