German speaking interim Group Accountant

Your new company
I am delighted to be exclusively recruiting for an immediately available Group Accountant with fluent German, to join a growing organisation on a fixed term basis. This challenging but exciting job role is with a business who are going through a rapid period of growth and require support at a European site, with weekly travel or potentially relocating to the local area for the 6 month contract period. The UK head office is based in Essex and you will be supported by the Group Finance Director.

Your new role
As the successful applicant to this job, you will initially assist with the Group consolidation and production of the monthly accounts. You will then coordinate with key stakeholders, assessing current accounting practices and creating and implementing new processes across the local accounting function. You will be hands on in this role, investigating and resolving key issues and creating and implementing solutions in line with IFRS and local GAAP, driving through change across the business and improving the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) and should have working experience within a Group environment that is going through a high degree of change. You will be pro-active and highly IT literate, with good problem solving skills and experience in process improvement and implementation. You will have excellent communication skills and should be confident communicating fluently in German across all levels of the business. You will be happy with regular weekly travel to Europe (up to 4 days per week) or will be able to relocate to the European site for the contract period. Applicants should be immediately available to start or available at very short notice.
