An exciting and rapidly expanding group of fine dining restaurants are seeking a Financial Controller to join their growing finance team in Central London. The group prides itself on its existing cosy and intimate restaurants. Now looking to aggressively expand by opening another 8 sites over the next 4 years, this is fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accountant to join drive the business to further growth. The Successful candidate will have experience working in the restaurant industry in a senior position in finance and will have demonstrated commercial acumen in a previous role.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Establishing slick operational processes
- Managing functional aspects of the business for each of the sites
- KPI reporting on the each site and the group as a whole
Finance:
- Responsibility for the finances of all sites
- Budgeting and forecasting for existing sites
- Assisting and financing the construction and opening of new sites
- Producing full sets of management accounts and consolidated group accounts
- Owning the P&L
- Managing a team of 3 accounts assistants
- Business partnering with the MD and the Expansion Director
- Analysis of the business, looking at areas of improvement
- Bringing an analytical and strategic approach to developing the optimal capital structure, in order to achieve the ambitious target of opening 8 sites in 4 years
Desired Skills and Experience:
- A pro active self starter
- Experience working in the Restaurant industry is essential
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and to meet deadlines.
- A qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Extensive experience with raising investments from Banks and equity investors in a growing company
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confidence and ability to challenge & question information
- Can demonstrate commercial acumen
- Experience managing a small team would be highly beneficial
