My client is an award winning international law firm and they are currently looking to recruit a Litigation Regulatory and Tax Solicitor with 4-5 years PQE to join the team in the Manchester office.

Experience of handling Arbitration and High Court Litigation is a must

This role sits within a team of fee earners, and reports to a partner. The role is to fill a need for a commercial litigation lawyer at solicitor level who can take the lead on mid sized claims with lighter supervision and support partners and senior associates.

Work areas include contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, protecting minority rights, derivative actions, warranty claims, directors' duties, partnership disputes, commercial fraud and trust litigation, worldwide freezing injunctions and search orders and inquiry work.

Be able to demonstrate an ability to identify key issues, steps required, timescales, resourcing and strategy to run mid sized disputes successfully and to contribute to the setting of these parameters in larger cases.

The candidate should have had experience of instructing and supervising more junior team members to support their work. Equally important is commercial awareness, and a personable and enthusiastic approach. A sound academic background, excellent written and communication and organisational skills are all requirements.

The Manchester disputes and regulatory team has 3 partners, 4 senior associates and eleven other fee earners. The team prides itself on being friendly and inclusive and is looking for people who will fit in with this ethos and make their careers here in the medium to long term. The work covers a broad spectrum of commercial litigation/disputes offering plenty of interest and stimulation and involves disputes of all sizes typically up to the mid £ tens of millions.

Candidates must (consistent with the years of experience) be good problem solvers, have a good knowledge of the CPR and practice and knowledge of the law and practice affecting one or more of the dispute areas described above.

Clients are typically medium to large corporates including a range of listed companies. The team seeks to involve all members in client relationship building and business development.
