Description
Key responsibilities will include:
- To manage the Procurement and Logistics function
- Develop and implement a purchasing strategy across the organisation
- Liaise with the Assistant Director of Finance to review and deliver procurement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships to gain buy- in and engagement with the key stakeholders
- Challenge, enhance and standardise existing procurement practices to ensure conformity of approach, generate economies of scale and deliver better value for money
- Deliver a category approach to ensure the procurement resources align with all operational and functional organisational
- Build and grow the procurement team by utilising strong change management techniques and focusing on people development.
- Build superior supplier relationship management capability within the team and through continuous business improvement
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers as required
- Oversee procurement system and data strategy; Implement new tools to support the function and the wider business
In addition you will also be responsible for developing an operating model for a centre-led procurement function and develop an appropriate public sector procurement strategy and procurement/contract management framework.
Profile
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent (HD)
- OJEU Experience
- Experience of developing a public sector procurement function and procurement strategies
Experience of developing and/or delivering efficiency gains - At least two years senior management experience in procurement
- Ability to provide leadership on technical and organisational issues
- Well developed negotiating and influencing skills
