Our client is an international development charity that envisions a world in which everyone has access to land, shelter and basic services.  This charity establishes and expands Housing Development Enterprises in more than 15 countries. Through these local enterprises, low-income families are able to live in affordable, structurally sound homes, within the security of a planned neighbourhood.

A strong corporate function that supports the organisation's mission and provides strong governance is essential to enable this Charity to meet its strategic objectives.  This is an exciting time to join an organisation experiencing significant growth to continue the journey towards service excellence.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be an engaged and active member of the Executive Management Team. You will be involved in setting the direction of this expanding organisation, contributing to the development of Corporate Business and Operating Plans and working collaboratively in developing and inspiring staff to deliver against Reall's mission, vision and values.  Specifically responsible for finance, governance and corporate services, there are several key priorities: financial risk management of the loan portfolio, preparing for an investor review, and leading the team to implement the board governance action plan and develop a performance management system.

A Qualified Accountant, you will have experience of working in a director level role in a medium sized organisation. You will be able to demonstrate that you have led HR, facilities management and IT functions to the highest standards.  You have excellent corporate governance experience and have delivered high-quality risk and assurance.  Experience of working in a charity or in the international or social enterprise development sector would be an advantage.  With a focus on the organisation's mission, you will be required to use your analytical and problem-solving abilities and calm judgement to direct the organisation, utilising your people skills to direct and develop your team.
