Financial Controller (Manufacturing)

Hays Senior Finance are pleased to be working exclusively with this established brand in the manufacturing sector who are seeking a Financial Controller. This is an exciting time to join a successful business who are continuing to grow in a pivotal finance role.
Your new role
The Financial Controller will be accountable for the accounting operations of the division, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of divisional reporting. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing all accounting operations
- Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Preparation and publication of timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Managing compliance
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Participation in the business' Continued Personal Development Plan for safety staff
- Support with other activities and projects in line with your responsibilities and as requested by your manager
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Accountant - Preferred unless highly relevant experience
- Tough, tenacious "can-do" mentality
- Ability get results in a cross functional environment
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to influence
- Competent PC and IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Microsoft query and databases
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing/flexible to travel as/when required
