Financial Controller

A technology business are searching for a new Financial Controller to be based in Berkshire. The position reports into the Group CFO, and is a perfect step for an ambitious qualified accountant looking to step into a No.2 position.

Manages a team of 5, as well as dotted-line overseas reports. Overall responsibility for reporting and financial control for the group and UK businesses.

Group Responsibilities:

• Production of monthly consolidated management accounts for the Board and Senior Leadership Team
• Statutory consolidated financial statements and associated audit (Big 4 auditors)
• Technical accounting advice
• Set and maintain accounting policies
• Set and gain assurance on global financial control standards
• Owner of the group consolidation system
• Support CFO in monthly financial and balance sheet reviews
• Liaison with in-country financial controllers

UK Responsibilities:

• Production of monthly UK management accounts
• Lead UK operational finance and UK accounting (AR, AP, GL)
• Ensure there is appropriate financial control for the UK and financial policies are followed
• UK treasury operations
• UK tax compliance (with support of Head of Tax and Treasury)
• Owner of UK accounting system

The CFO is looking for a talented individual, and has an open mind on background. There are a number of paths you may have taken. You may be from a large company background, looking to move into a slightly smaller business in a more senior role. You could have qualified with a Big 4 audit firm, and subsequently moved into a large corporate, and are now looking for a move into a business with more autonomy. You may currently be in practice and are looking for a move into your first FC position. The most important attribute is drive and determination to succeed.
