European Finance Director

Our client, an international PE backed multi-site business, is now looking to strengthen its finance function with the recruitment of a new European Finance Director.  This role has overall responsibility for the delivery of accounts to the Group Financial Controller for all companies not based in the UK.  Working with the Operational Country Heads within the Group to provide decision support and to produce the annual Budget, this is a newly created role which will incorporate considerable transformation project work. 

Key duties

• Work closely with the CFO to roll out financial systems and processes across all countries
• Ensure teams in each country are fit for purpose and delivering to the standards required by the company
• Instrumental in moving the business to a new payroll platform for the Group
• Creating clear and visible SLAs and controls that are reported on daily, weekly and monthly basis, as appropriate
• Deliver accurate and timely Accounts to the Group FC for all companies in all countries in line with required timescales
• Monitor and drive performance of the Countries and provide decision support to the local Heads of Country, as required
• Working with the Group FC to ensure tax compliance in country
• Work with the CFO to develop an efficient, motivated team
• Owner of the financial processes with the non-UK business, ensuring the system has fundamental financial integrity and outputs into financial systems are processes are robust and accurate

Profile

Holding a formal accounting qualification, the successful candidate for this role will be strong academically and intellectually and will have had previous experience of implementing financial/ payroll systems.  Deadline focussed and excited by the prospect of playing a key role in a fast paced business, you will need to have worked in an international business/role previously and will be comfortable being hands-on.
