Based in central London my client a leading financial services house is now looking for a Group Financial Controller to manage the monthly group reporting, the year-end financial reporting process and all taxation aspects of the UK entities. The role will report directly to the Group Finance Director and be responsible for all financial management and controls relating to the Group, the Groups investment advisory business and various SPVs. The role will include the management of a qualified financial accountant and will liaise directly with the UK and overseas finance managers.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following;
Preparation of the monthly group management pack including analysis of the individual businesses, development of meaningful KPIs and cashflow forecast
Responsibility for the oversight and preparation of the consolidated Group Financial Statements and underlying year end reporting packs including liaising with group auditors
Responsibility for managing the preparation of the annual tax computations in conjunction with group tax advisors and IXBRL reporting
Involvement in the preparation of the annual group budget and the budgets for certain individual group companies
Oversight of the Financial Accountant in terms of ensuring reconciliations, accrual and prepayment schedules and intercompany balances are properly prepared
Responsibility for the preparation and submission of the quarterly group VAT return and acting as primary contact with external advisers and HMRC on all matters relating to VAT
Oversight responsibility for the accounting system (Navision) including year-end closing, providing guidance to other users, report development when necessary and the setting up of new users and accounts
Oversight and review of an assistant account working for the in house legal company
Responsibility for implementing a consolidation package to enhance the year end progress
Background and Qualifications
Qualified professional accounting qualification - ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
8+ years' experience working within a financial control environment as a finance manager or financial controller
Previous experience at managing a team and liaising with teams in different offices
Strong excel skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Navision would be a benefit
Ideal candidate must be able to prioritise, manage their own time and have a hands on approach
