BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR - packaging / print / POS
Salary: GBP65-85k + benefits + bonus
Location: Flexible - Home based so can located anywhere in the UK
Experience Required: MUST have a dual Creative & Production agency background.
Ideal Experience: A full service agency background, strong agency credentials (NOT just prepress), history of winning business with large FMCG cos / Global Brands, able to sell channels and cross services, consultative & credible manner, Director level attributes.
Suitable industries: packaging / POS agency / print management
Key points:Expected to bring in circa GBP1m in the first year. Working with a prospecting team. Commission based on new sales brought in to the business. Regular travel UK, Europe, Globally
I am currently recruiting for a Senior Business Development / Sales role on behalf of a well-established branding, design and production agency that is wishing to expand their service portfolio and client base. The role is to acquire high profile new design accounts with global brand names. To work in an extremely entrepreneurial & flexible environment where this person will have the capability to grow the business. As such I am wishing to speak to reputable industry sales professionals. In-depth knowledge and a passion for the industry are essential. Must be creative, strategic and able to bring new ideas. This person could possibly be somebody who is frustrated with setting up or running their own agency but who still wants the freedom & seniority that comes with managing a business. This opportunity could definitely develop in to a higher level position within the organisation. It is very much a hands on, business manager function with a lot of say and a great deal of responsibility.
The Company;
Part of a larger group within the global brand activation market, my client offers design & production capabilities aimed at recognised blue chip brand names within sectors such as FMCG and Brand and Retail (some Pharmaceutical) and now more than ever they are looking to increase their already impressive client portfolio. Their current focus is to expand their capabilities from Branding, Creative, Packaging and to build on what they have plus growth in areas such as POS & Marcomms. Ultimately they are focused on being a full service agency who has the ability to deal with everything within the group which puts them in a very exciting position. In addition to this, the resource capabilities moving forward are unlimited. Huge presence globally in terms of clients and with offices in the U.S.
Opportunity;
-Key responsibility for winning new business
-Seeking out and securing profitable, loyal client accounts
-Focusing on development of large accounts within FMCG and clients of a similar calibre
-Playing a key part in taking the company forward and in to new markets
-Involved in National and European travel where necessary - all expenses paid and often to much sunnier climates!
-Encouraging account growth and account penetration in to new areas.
-Gaining commission and rewards according to studio growth
-Understanding clients long terms needs and identifying other agencies they work with
-Contributing to weekly and monthly meetings and overall agency growth
-Home based and work from home, travelling to the office when required perhaps once a month.
-Involvement in overall brand strategy and company image, including websites and social networking.
Essentials;
-Suitable applicants will be working for design agency or will be the current or previous owner of a design agency. MUST have both creative and production.
-May currently be working as a BDD, BDM, Sales Director, Sales Manager with obvious sales focus or perhaps as a Creative Director, Account Director or Project Director with emphasis on new business development rather than account management.
-Must show strong agency credentials (NOT prepress)
-Ideally a background with emphasis on FMCG, Branded and Consumer Services clients with global or national coverage.
-A creative yet commercial approach
-Able to use business acumen in order to base a pitch around Value Added Services and Return on Investment
-Proven ability to strategically win new clients
-Experience of winning large FMCG accounts
-Understanding of the tender process that goes with winning new clients in this market
-Must be entrepreneurial and creative, rather than generic and mainstream
-Will have a stable working history and show career commitment
-Will enjoy playing a key role in company growth and success.
-Strong global market knowledge
-Highly strategic approach involving large amount of networking
-Consultative and highly credible sales manner based on recommendations (NOT pushy)
-Enjoy national and sometimes international travel
