Legal Aid Family Costs Locum

The Role
A temporary opportunity has now arisen for a talented Legal Aid Cost Biller to join a Sheffield-based practice. With previous experience in a similar position, the successful Cost Biller will manage a busy and challenging workload, handling all of the Legal Aid billing for Solicitors in areas including Family and Mental Health. Duties may include: drafting bills; answering queries relating to billing; liaising with other legal professionals; checking over Solicitors work and; utilising relevant costing software. If you thrive under pressure, take pride in delivering a high quality support service and are seeking a hands-on role with responsibility from the outset. The role will last for around 2-3 weeks whilst the backlog is cleared.

The Candidate
You must be a Cost Biller or Draftsperson with significant experience gained within a similar position in the legal framework;
You must have solid experience of Legal Aid billing;
You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
You will be IT Literate;
You will be highly numerate with a keen eye for detail;
You will have a professional and pro-active approach to your work;
You will work well as part of a team as well as on your own initiative.
