Senior Fund Accountant - Real Estate / Property - Our Client are a thriving and market leading firm with presence around the Globe and over 20 years since inception, they focus on the alternative residential market and take a decentralised / warm approach tailoring each development to its unique market. They truly are a recognised and respected brand in the market and are looking to take on an experienced and high calibre Senior Fund Accountant to join the team.
The Role:
- Acting as the Senior Fund Accountant for a German fund and reporting to the Financial Controller.
- Responsible for the day to day accounting running of the annual audit process for UK and overseas companies and liaising with auditors to ensure timely closing and meeting filing obligations.
- Acting as the standalone management accountant for a group of companies and consolidated accounts for the UK and overseas companies, this includes translation of foreign currency investments and transactions.
- Producing monthly management accounts and investor reporting.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet and P&L review with commentary.
- Performing month end processes and reconciliations, including general ledger maintenance, adherence to reporting timetable, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany balances and posting journals.
- Responsibility for tax compliance for all companies across the group (NRL, VAT, corporation tax, income tax, PAYE etc.) and liaising with tax advisors.
- Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting processes across the business.
- Implementing and monitoring of internal management fee arrangements.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring control systems, policies and procedures to ensure all accounting and records are robust and secure.
- Working alongside the real estate and commercial team and reporting for the joint venture.
- Ensuring the accounting for all operating and development schemes accurately reflect the financial position of the developments and operating assets.
- Regularly carrying out impairment reviews of fixed and current assets and reporting to board where adjustments are identified.
- Responsibility for insurance renewal and administration.
- Developing and maintaining financial processes and controls.
- Leading, coaching and managing a team.
- Liaising with internal and external clients and ensuring work is done efficiently, cost effectively and on time.
The Person: will hold an accounting qualification such as ACA /CA / ACCA/ CIMA and will have at least 3 / 4 years post qualification experience AND experience managing people. The incumbent will come from a fund or investment management background and WILL HAVE experience with consolidating accounts, management accounting, audit and reporting under accounting standards such as UK GAAP and IFRS. The incumbent will be confident using Microsoft Excel and would be able to do Pivot Tables / VLOOKUP's.
