Our client is looking to recruit a Commercial Solicitor who will undertake Commercial work and Data Protection work. The role will be based in Leeds.

The Group is focused on developing innovative products and services to help businesses make smarter, more informed decisions throughout the customer lifecycle. The role will be based in Leeds.

Description

  • Maintaining (i) an in-depth knowledge of the contracts, legislation, industry codes and policy that regulate the use of data assets by the Group; and (ii) an expert level understanding of how these impact the business
  • Creating and maintaining a knowledge management system in tandem with other team members
  • Implementing a data permissions framework including policy and procedures
  • Advising the business on how data can be used in a compliant way both in the Product Development Lifecycle and all sales models
  • Supporting the Group's representative at external data permissions oversight committees /governing bodies
  • Data Permissions SME for any internal/external projects
  • Assisting Product Development lawyers to draft data permissions aspects of product playbooks
  • Providing training and support to the business (in particular, Legal Transactions, Sales, Sales Consolidation and Account Management teams) in respect of the permitted use of the Group's data assets, products and services, so that other teams can handle first-line data permission queries
  • Liaising with Product Management teams and Data Stewards as appropriate to assist in their tasks relating to compliant management of the Group's data assets and products

Profile

  • Commercial Solicitor
  • Expert level knowledge of relevant data privacy law
  • Aptitude and appetite to obtain expert level knowledge of the Group's wider regulatory universe relevant to data permissions
  • Aptitude and appetite to obtain an appropriate level of knowledge of the Group's products and services to be able to assess and advise on relevant data permissions
  • Robust character with the ability to influence and to work under pressure

Ability disseminate technical legal advice to non-lawyers

Job Offer

The level of salary will be commesurate with level of PQE and experience.
