Your new company
A growing international pharmaceuticals company with over £250m in sales and a leader in the generics space. This is a company with ambitions to become a top 5 pharmaceuticals company in the next years. The organisation has been increasingly acquisitive, and has a strong management structure in place to maximise its coverage. The company has its European Headquarters in London, with headcount set to increase across all areas.
Your new role
A newly created in-house commercial legal role, reporting into the Head of Legal Affairs in Europe. The role will be the sole legal position in the London office, and will involve a wide variety of legal work. The commercial matters the role will manage include in-licensing, servicing and procurement matters, alongside advising on distribution, manufacturing, supply and corporate agreements. As a trusted and visible Counsel, you will also support the Head of Legal Affairs in M&A matters, and advise where necessary on data protection, supply chain, employment and intellectual property matters. You will manage the legal databases and use your strong negotiating skills when dealing with clients and other stakeholders. You will build strong working relations with all business units, providing high quality commercial advice across this multinational organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a UK qualified mid-level commercial lawyer, ideally with a demonstrable track record within the Pharmaceuticals sector. You will have excellent commercial acumen, and experience negotiating contracts with industry-savvy clients. You will be able to contribute well to a small but busy legal function, on matters including commercial agreements, corporate M&A, IP, employment and other matters. To that end, you will have in-house exposure, building a profile as a reliable commercial advisor, interacting with all business units. You will be comfortable liaising with stakeholders in other European countries, and within the London office, you will e able to function effectively in a highly multicultural office environment, and have respect for different backgrounds. This is a strongly multicultural workforce, where diversity and cultural richness is celebrated. You will be ready for periodic travel within the UK, and be able to provide training to lay colleagues. The role does not require strong regulatory pharmaceuticals experience. You must be able to simplify legal concepts for your colleagues, and you will possess excellent communication skills. You will be able to see the bigger business picture.
What you'll get in return
The chance to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to a rapidly expanding organisation, as it reaches a crucial time in its evolution. YOu will receive a high quality of work, autonomy in the role, and a fully integrated business experience as a legal counsel. The salary and benefits associated with the role are very competitive.
