BCL Legal is pleased to be working with this leading international firm in its recruitment of a Commercial/Projects Solicitor to join its leading energy practice.

The role has arisen due to continued growth and success within this ever growing sector which is constantly going through change.

Our client is at the forefront of the fast moving energy sector and provides technically excellent advice to its growing client base of energy providers.

For the successful commercial solicitor, work will include advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements and Codes relevant to the energy sector - from long term highly valuable power purchase and fuel supply agreements to multi-party industry Codes and standard supply terms. The firm is very often at the forefront of major Government led transformation programmes and the application of incentive mechanisms which makes this an exciting and challenging opportunity.

You would also be involved in supporting energy transactional work such as development projects, corporate transactions and energy financing.

Client include the Government, regulatory bodies, major utilities, project developers, network owners and operators, suppliers and traders and funders.

You would have a client facing role and the opportunity to develop client relationships so strong interpersonal skills are essential.

With at least two years' post qualification experience, you should be able to demonstrate strong academic qualifications and good experience of advising on and drafting a wide variety of complex commercial agreements.

Energy experience is desirable, though not essential as full training will be given.

The appointment is Birmingham-based - but the role requires flexibility to travel to London on occasion.
