Our client is a global consumer business who own a number of instantly recognisable brands. As a business, they have gown significantly in the UK & EU and they are currently recruiting for a Trade Finance Manager to support this growth. This position offers a great mix of financial planning, business partnering sales and suppliers and has a strong emphasis on trade and margins.

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, this position will manage 4 Analysts that you will help coach and develop.

Main duties include:

  • Partner with sales leadership team to monitor, analyse and interpret pricing, trade terms, post event analysis, customer profitability and provide insight to trading strategies
  • Preparation & reporting of period forecast and annual budget process
  • Lead Monthly Business Reviews to the leadership teams
  • Analysis and solid understanding of Foreign Exchange (FX) drivers and implications
  • Management of trade investment across the region
  • Lead the trade month end process and ensure trade accuracy and timeliness of results
  • Provide insightful analysis on trade spend vs forecast to Sales Director and Customer Directors
  • Ensure adherence to trade policy and all trade processes are aligned to Audit requirements
  • Lead, develop, and manage the Trade Finance Analysts in accordance with Leadership Expectations
  • Provides support to the Global Business Performance Management (BPM) Project, a strategic priority for Finance to globalize data, systems and processes
  • Ad hoc commercial projects

The ideal person will be / have:

  • Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or overseas equivalent)
  • Experience in a finance business partnering position a consumer related industry, ideally FMCG or retail
  • Previous management experience
  • Commercial finance or trading experience is ideal
  • Financial modelling and scenario planning skills
  • Experience analysing KPIs, forecasting and supporting senior management
  • Has the ability to influence senior stakeholders across a matrix business
  • Someone who can drive change across the business and capitalise on opportunities
