Group Finance Director

The Wozair Group is a well-established medium sized specialist engineering Company, based in the UK with regional office and manufacturing locations in Singapore, Houston, Dubai, Brisbane and Busan.  The Company employs over 180 people on a worldwide basis.  Group annual turnover for 2015 was £39M and is forecast to grow to £50M by 2018.

Wozair design, manufacture and supply a full range of specialist Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) products and services for the Offshore and Onshore Oil & Gas, Marine and Energy Industries on a worldwide basis.

The Group undertakes numerous Projects for Oil & Gas Operators, Contractors, Fabrication Yards and others ranging from £100 spare parts to large (£10M+) multidisciplinary Turnkey packages involving design, equipment supply and commissioning.

In 2016 Wozair acquired Jet Environmental Systems based in Solihull.  Jet design, supply, install and commission HVAC systems for large warehouses.  Jet has been incorporated into the Wozair Group as a wholly owned subsidiary.

Main Responsibility

The Group Finance Director will oversee the day to day activities of the Company’s Finance Team to ensure the Company’s function is organised and efficient and produces accurate and timely financial and management accounts.

The Group Finance Director will report to the Group Managing Director and the Shareholders and take an active role with the Board in formulating strategy and long term plans.

The Group Finance Director will be based at the Kent UK office although this position will include responsibilities for ensuring the function is efficiently undertaken at all Group worldwide locations which will involve overseas travel.

Duties include

  • Company Secretary activities.
  • Management of the finance function and overseeing the finance team.
  • Leading and managing the preparation of Budgets, Forecasts, Cash flows and KPIs.
  • Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes.
  • Meeting Group reporting deadlines.
  • Preparation of monthly Consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports.
  • Financial modelling and analysis.
  • Supporting the Contracts/Operations teams in commercial conditions, product costing and margin analysis.
  • Reviewing cost structures and suggesting ways in which cost can be controlled and where possible cut.
  • Cash management on a daily basis.
  • Maintaining the local relationship with Bank.
  • Treasury Management and Banking including Foreign Exchange.
  • Arranging Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantees etc.
  • HR policy and overseeing the HR, Payroll processes and Pension schemes.
  • Preparation of statutory returns for Tax, Statistics etc.
  • Arranging and maintain various Company insurances.
  • Company vehicle fleet insurance, tax, replacement and disposals.
  • Management and development of Company IT equipment and systems.

Requirements of the Role

  • Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with previous financial control and management reporting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability and experience of directing and managing a small finance team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, confidence, good judgement showing logical decision making and a hands on approach in a dynamic environment.
  • Computer literate with good Excel skills, experience with Sage and a solid understanding of accounting software principles.  Previous experience with the implementation of ERP systems.
  • A willingness to communicate and travel to overseas locations to ensure the finance function in consistent and efficient.
  • Previous experience at Board level and to be an active and dynamic contributor to the Group Management team.
