In-House Legal Counsel - Cambridge

My client's in house team is seeking to appoint a junior commercial lawyer to work in a generalist role on a broad range of IP, commercial, corporate, data protection and compliance issues. Working closely with the Senior IP Counsel and US legal team, the role offers a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to gain exposure to a wide range of legal matters, in a truly global environment.

My client is a hugely successful life sciences company, with global offices and a massive growth in recent years. The small in-house legal team is dynamic and friendly, and are at the centre of the business to tackle all the challenges it faces.

Description

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on advertising, promotion, marketing, procurement, e-commerce, competition, regulation, employment law and dispute resolution.
• Advising on compliance and data protection issues
• Assisting with exciting acquisition projects and mergers
• Providing general corporate support
• Assisting with the management and exploitation of the company's IP portfolio

Profile

The successful candidate will have :

• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience, having qualified in the UK or other common law jurisdiction. Experience in drafting common law commercial agreements is a must.
• A strong academic background
• Qualification from a reputable law firm
• A genuine desire to work in a generalist in-house role
• Strong technical and drafting skills
• A commercial and pragmatic mind-set
• A strong results-focused orientation
• Ability to juggle competing priorities
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills

Job Offer

Basic salary of up to £70,000
