Risk and Compliance Manager/Solicitor

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Compliance Manager to create the Risk & Compliance function.

The firm is a long established and highly regarded private client firm with a client base of high net worth individuals and SME's. Practice areas include the usual array of private client matters, Wills, Trusts, Property, Family and also Employment, Disputes, and Commercial. The firm has been performing exceptionally well over the past few years and have expanded to the point where they require a dedicated Risk & Compliance Manager.

The role is currently being performed by a couple of partners and the office manager, and they need an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager to centralise the function. This is likely to include developing and implementing policies and procedures and training the fee earners, secretaries and paralegals.

It is anticipated the Risk & Compliance Manager will be called upon to advise on a number of issues including AML, Sanctions and PEP's, Bribery, Corruption, Code of Conduct and SRA matters and terms of engagement for example.

Applications are welcome from solicitors who have practiced in a City firm and then moved into a dedicated Risk & Compliance role. As a guide, as this is a very senior role, it is anticipated at least 3-4PQE and at least 3-4 years Risk & Compliance experience.

This may suit a frustrated ‘number two' who is seeking to step up into a sole role, or a current Manager who is seeking the challenge of creating the department from scratch.
