Our clients Data Protection practice is growing. As part of the national 50 strong fee earner commercial practice, the Data Protection team is one of the largest and most successful of its type. They have an enviable client base including household names in a wide variety of sectors such as retail, financial institutions, insurance, manufacturing and the government, public and charity sectors. They are building a real reputation for the provision of premium commercial advice that delivers results for both the lawyers and clients whom they are helping to grow, expand and succeed.
The Data Protection practice has a leading reputation for delivering innovative solutions that make it easier for people to do business, whilst maintaining compliance and reducing risk. They support and advise major private and public sector clients across a variety of industries on privacy and data issues and sit as senate members of IMRG (the trade body for e-commerce), as well as working on cutting edge data products across new and emerging technologies involving cyber security, telematics, drones and big data. They also advise on wider information governance issues, including freedom of information and the re-use of public sector information, as well as supporting clients if things go wrong, often as an extension of their internal response teams. The GDPR is creating opportunities to support new and existing clients with their data protection compliance, from upfront gap analysis and reporting through to the provision and implementation of compliance solutions.
They are currently looking for a number of data protection specialists to join them, and they are flexible about the location you will be based at. All the offices have a strong commercial offering, a collegiate atmosphere and a commitment to providing a national service for their clients. The successful candidates will have a proven track record in delivering data protection and information governance advice ideally in a large regional or city law firm or in-house. As important is the ability to deliver advice to their clients in a commercial way, developing and deepening relationships and driving opportunities to work in partnership with their clients to achieve their strategic goals.
