Top tier Scottish commercial firm are looking to hire a specialist employment lawyer with circa 2-4 years PQE to work as part of national-led team and be based in their offices in Aberdeen.

Role Profile:

  • You will help finance directors, HR teams and in-house employment lawyers of major UK and international companies to avoid employment conflicts and save money so that they can focus on managing their workforce more effectively. 
  • You will provide practical, speedy, pragmatic and tailored commercial advice to clients with commercially acceptable solutions, not merely details of the legal issues.  The firm's approach has resulted in them developing long-term relationships and partnerships with clients, many of whom are household name companies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • You will ideally have gained 2-4 years employment law experience in either a commercial firm or in-house legal team.
  • You should be able to demonstrate that you have pursued interests in and deepened your skills in a particular area, for example TUPE, working time or equality. Experience of advising clients in the energy sector would be desirable.
  • The role will involve some employment tribunal litigation.
  • You will have a strong academic background and an outgoing personality.
  • Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development. They will be a team player with the ability to work with fellow employment lawyers across the firm's offices as well as working with colleagues in other disciplines. They will also be organised with excellent communication skills and a systematic approach to business development.
