Excellent new role for an Employment Lawyer to move in-house and join a leading financial services company based in their offices in Glasgow. This role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months. 

Working as part of the Legal & Governance team and reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will provide employment law advice to HR and business stakeholders. The role will include:

  • Supporting complex disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Providing advice on the implementation of HR policies.
  • Supporting change initiatives during both the planning and implementation stages, engaging with suppliers to oversee their handling of Settlement Agreements.
  • Drafting Settlement Agreements and advising on any Employment Tribunal claims.
  • Acting as a focal point and subject matter expert on employment law, including advising on implementation of new legislation.
  • Managing external law firms.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Current practicing certificate from the Law Society of Scotland or the Law Society of England and Wales.
  • Proven record in providing 'hands on' accurate, timely employment legal advice.
  • Ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and decision making skills together with an ability to communicate in a commercial and non-technical manner.
  • Experience working in financial services or a regulated environment would be an advantage but not essential.
