Legal Director - Software House

My client is a specialist software business looking to embed a senior software lawyer as their sole Legal Director from London.

A leader in specialist on-premise, cloud and managed service software, my client is an international player with an extensive and loyal customer base. With a reputation based on excellent client service, relationships as well as innovative provision, this software house is continuously developing it's output to stay ahead of the curve. Now looking for a Sole Legal Director my client is looking to develop and build their client base.

Description

The Legal Director - Software House will lead the business legal function. Reporting to the CFO, in this is a sole position the Legal Director will assume responsibility across the business from maintain relationships and supporting the international sales team with regards to :

- on-premise licensing

- cloud / SaaS / PaaS Licensing

In addition the role will be responsible for other commercial matters that would come into the business.

Profile

Ideally the Legal Director - Software House will be a senior software lawyer looking to move into a leadership/director role. C7+ years PQE*, the candidate will have obtained solid legal training either within a leading private practice or in house business.

To be successful this Legal Director will ideally:

- be an excellent licensing lawyer who has had solid exposure and full understanding of software

- have experience of IP and Data Protection

- be an excellent communicator with the ability to network and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders

- be a solutions oriented individual who approaches problem solving creatively and innovative

* no level of PQE will be precluded from this search. PQE is merely a guideline.

Job Offer

The Legal Director - Software House will be remunerated with a basic salary from £90k to c£120k in addition to additional benefits.
