Financial Controller

A rare opportunity has arisen for a switched-on Financial controller to join a very close knit team data management in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to have extensive exposure to the company, make key decisions and have an impact on the business. 

The Financial controller will be responsible for the company’s financial reporting and controlling across the group, including implement new processes and procedures which will allow future stability and growth.

Responsibilities

·         Preparing the monthly management accounts for each reporting entity

·         Taking ownership of the year-end accounting process for the company

·         Monthly reconciliations

·         Aged debtor control and liaison and ensuring billing up to date

·         Preparation of VAT returns and corporate tax, including submissions to HMRC

·         Liaising with external accountants to complete annual statutory reporting process

·         Work with existing systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness

·         Manage an established Finance team, with teams in both Germany and Bangladesh; 

·         Assist with budgeting and forecasting across the business

·         Recommend changes that will improve the financial performance and financial controls

·         Perform other ad hoc analyses as required by the board. 

The successful candidate

·         Qualified or part qualified accountant

·         Experience with Sage 50

·         Experience with Xero (beneficial)

·         Technical accounting knowledge

·         Advanced Excel skills

·         Great communication skills to support the Senior team and other non-finance teams
