Social Housing Solicitor

Our client is a well - established Commercial High Street firm with an enviable reputation in Social Housing Work. The firm are now looking to recruit a further senior solicitor to complement their team of 14.

The Role

Acting for social landlords and local authorities only, you will advise on a broad spectrum of social housing matters such as:

·         Possession actions

·         Estate Management litigation

·         Obtaining injunctions in cases of nuisance or anti-social behaviour

·         Defending civil claims for disrepair

·         Squatters and unauthorised occupier proceedings

·         Tenancy documentation and housing policy advice

·         Independent housing ombudsman investigations

·         General  leasehold problems

·         Service charge disputes

·         Preventing and solving rent arrears problems

·         Care and supportive housing issues.

The Candidate

·         A qualified Solicitor with at least 6 years PQE+ in Social Housing acting for landlords

·         Extensive experience in working for Registered Providers of Social Housing, Local Authorities, Co-operatives and Arm's Length Management Organisations

·         Ideally a history and experience in dealing with Leasehold Management matters such as litigation involving shared ownership lessees in addition to housing management matters
