General Position Description:
Under the administrative direction of the Chief Medical Officer, is responsible for collaborating on the company vision and strategy of Medical Operations. The primary focus is on building a high performing physician organization across a multi-site organization. Responsible for delivering results in provider engagement, clinical efficiency, high patient satisfaction and driving quality across the platform. Responsible for MedExpress' adherence to all clinical medical policies, directives, rules, regulations and clinical performance standards of the state, the federal government, and accrediting bodies, and serves as the companies' ultimate authority on medical issues. Provides professional medical services as appropriate, and other related work, as designated by the Chief Medical Officer including, but not limited to, the below responsibilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the direct supervision over the Regional Medical Directors.
- Responsible for oversight of the practice manager and subsequent areas of focus including provider scheduling, paid-time-off, CME, provider bonus payouts, and staffing levels.
- Recommends innovative solutions to enable aggressive growth and scale the provider organization with a sense of urgency and quality.
- Drives quality assurance standards across the company for the provider organization. Reviews the activities of the medical staff in accordance with ethical standards and the overall policies of the Center. Schedules interdisciplinary meetings with medical and support staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Drives business development within target markets including Corporate Care, onsite, workers compensation, occupational medicine, telemedicine, population health management and other unique delivery models.
- Demonstrates healthcare thought leadership and builds sustainable relationships internally and externally across the healthcare ecosystem.
- Represent the Corporation in community organization activities and other outside entities including payer and provider organizations.
- Drives quality assurance standards across the company for the provider organization. Reviews the activities of the medical staff in accordance with ethical standards and the overall policies of the Center. Schedules interdisciplinary meetings with medical and support staff to ensure quality patient care.
- Provides the final medical decision on medical issues when disputes arise.
- Formulates policies and objectives for medical programs and communicates these policies to appropriate staff for execution within an integrated team case management approach.
- Provides consultation and as needed day to day involvement in developing recruiting, retention and training strategies to ensure a high performing physician organization and excellence in patient care.
- Assists in the development and presentation of the clinical activities budget, including staffing, support plan, and equipment needs projections.
- Prepares and recommends qualifications statements for credentialing, job descriptions, and evaluation standards for all clinical personnel including assessing growth, labor model to deliver scale and leverage and drive consistency in healthcare delivery across the platform.
- Advises on health information system needs; develops, recommends, and conduct special studies of health needs and priorities, interpret clinical data.
- Leads or participates in the periodic review of practice management functions, e.g., reception, telephone triage, patient flow, outreach services, laboratory, follow-up on missed appointments, referral tracking, etc.
- Reviews patient satisfaction survey and aligns operational strategy to drive increasing patient satisfaction; functions as escalation point for patient complaints.
- Arranges and conducts regular meetings of clinical providers.
- Maintains advice and consent functions regarding the responsibilities and privileges of administrative personnel supervising ancillary (e.g., laboratory, x-ray, etc.) services.
- Institutes and manages continuing professional education, in-service training, and orientation of clinical staff.
- Participates in the development of health risk management protocols.
- Advocates for the Centers and serve as a liaison to local and state professional societies, as well as to health officials, organizations, and health institutions, as appropriate.
- Assists in the development and supervision, implementation, and operation of a quality assurance program as it relates to patient care.
- Represents the views, needs concerns, and policy proposals of the medical staff to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership Team.
- Participates, in concert with Human Resources, the recruitment and development of medical staff and assurance of their credentials. Recommends hiring and firing and other disciplinary actions of medical staff.
- Serves and/or assists as a primary rater (or review officer where additional levels of supervision exist) for all clinical personnel evaluations; recommends or participates in final determination of disciplinary actions and terminations as well as nomination of individuals for awards.
- Assists in the presentation of reports on health and quality assurance issues to key stakeholders regularly, as determined by the CMO and CEO.

Working Relationships:
- Will interact with all employees of the Medical Leadership and Executive Leadership Teams on a regular basis as well as other cross-functional team-members at the Administrative Offices.
- Understanding of Project Management and workflow concepts strongly preferred.
