Position Overview
Speyside Corporate Relations is seeking to hire a financial controller based in Hungary to manage all aspects of financial and management accounting, HR and legal matters relating to supplier contracts and overseas expansion in addition to managing a locally based team of 3-4 staff.
Given the international footprint of the business it is critical that the incoming candidate is fluent in English in order that he/she can effectively interact with colleagues around the world many of whom do not have English as a first language.
Reporting to the Company President the Financial Controller will have specific responsibility for the following;
Responsibilities
• Managing all financial and accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets and Revenue Recognition
• Managing consolidated management accounts and reporting on variances
• Preparing and managing the annual consolidated audit according to IFRS
• Annual budgeting and monthly forecasting duties
• Manage and comply with statutory reporting requirements and tax filings in different jurisdictions globally
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Management of cash and working capital requirements, monitoring debt levels and cash collection activities.
• Managing HR matters such as payroll and issuing employment contracts
• Managing legal matters such as office expansions and closures and client and supplier contracts
• Managing external bookkeeping firms
• Monitoring and managing intercompany transactions
• Managing an internal team of 3-4
• Regular reporting to shareholders including the production of bespoke reports where necessary
Required Experience
Specific corporate relations sector background is not critical, although a background in the management consulting / professional services sector would be beneficial.
Given the size of the business we expect the successful candidate to come from a similar sized
($1-10m USD turnover) business where they are used to operating autonomously and managing a wide variety of finance, administrative, legal and IT tasks in a hands on manner.
